friday afternoon update!

by chas on October 17, 2008

it all starts with a life vision

in my case that vision would include having a weekend. for the past…where’s my calculator…ohhh…let’s just say a long long time…i’ve been working evenings and weekends. which was fine and all by me. it was the best time to make money, and it’s generally easy to navigate your way through life on the ground during the week, when the masses are working. parks, grocery stores, bike trails, museums…all wonderfully quiet.

then along comes rowan and after three years along comes pre-school. so now the little guy is out of the house three days a week and the writing is one the wall…evenings and weekends are becoming prime time, and i am going to have to get some of that action.

hence, the vision of finishing a week on a friday, and a new way to keep that vision in mind while taking the necessary steps to bring it into reality. so welcome to the friday afternoon update!, my creative love child of a fluent self practice with some leveraging the universe insights and practicalities.

i’m going to have to start taking notes!

like, what the heck did i actually do this week? Yikes! I’m all for living in the moment, and i’d like that moment to linger a bit, eh?

so yeah, that’s right, monday was a family trip to the king richard’s faire, in carver, mass., a lovely afternoon in an alternate reality, that reminded me of just how much i love literature, music, and walking around outside on a beautiful fall day with nothing particular to do. surrounded by interesting people. friendly people. off the beaten track people.

which brings us right back to that life vision!

ducks in a row…does that happen?

only in real time, it seems. one duck after the other. and so in the midst of a full life on the ground: yoga classes, lifestyle consultations, networking, and private yoga sessions; and a mass of phone calls: clients, teachers, fellow students, and my own coaches/fairy helpers; i spent the week sneaking in an hour here and an hour there working on marketing strategy for this little ittybiz.

after all, what good is it getting great at helping people work through their blocks and build up the health and vitality needed to balance their lives and create the world they’ve been dreaming of if they can’t find me in the first place?

ready for the weekend

so there we go. it’s friday evening. the weekend begins. time to sing some songs with rowan before eating randi’s butternut squash ratatouille. and spending a weekend with no particular thing to do. think it so!

how was your week, and what is your vision for your creative lifestyle?

Hi, Came over from Havi’s thinking maybe there was a recipe for the butternut squash ratatouille. there is, isn’t there? Please?

Also, your whole laid back working on the weekends thing sounds like it would work well with homeschooling. Just saying. Keep it in the back of your mind just in case.

@JoVE:

lookin’ for a tasty fall meal, eh? well, i didn’t actually cook it, so i’ll have to scrounge around for the recipe. please look for a post soon!

i am a fan of homeschooling btw…and that sort of project requires full-on support from both parents, i think, which i haven’t got. so focusing on making the best of something more conventional…
