my big fat democratic heart
call me a sucker…there’s one born every minute, right…and as far back as i can remember, and especially once the hormones kicked in, i’ve been a sucker for the story of democracy in america. of course it’s flawed and bla bla bla, until you compare it to the reality of human existence. then it’s like wow…what a concept. and what a work still in progress.
so of course there are so many folks with complaints that progress takes so long, that it’s all a sham and a lie. i disagree. i believe that if you aren’t a hypocrite you are reaching high enough, your goals are too easily achievable. call it the audacity of hope, and i’ve always believed that the day would come when everyone was included in the party, and when everyone would get the seeming paradox of separation of church and state coexisting with in god we trust.
suffice to say i’m pretty happy with the mental and emotional freedom of the majority of americans this week. and i’m so looking forward to assuaging the fears of everyone else. with your help, of course.
yoga still ain’t what you think it is
yeah i know…you think it’s stretching and strengthening and flexiblizing your body.
and that’s true…and massively incomplete. ‘cos it does all those things for your mind as well. and your emotions.
and that’s still just part of the deal.
so here’s the deal. yoga is all about getting in tune with the natural flow of the universe. think about that for a while and then we’ll talk about how you can use that attunement to live life exactly the way you’d like to.
remember: who are you really? and what do you really want to be doing right now? that’s the ticket as far as i’m concerned.
sorry…you won’t get any of this from a video.
