When health is absent,

wisdom cannot reveal itself,
art cannot become manifest,
strength cannot be exerted,
wealth becomes useless,
and reason is powerless.

herophilus 300 b.c.

thanks to daniela haskara for the herophilus quote, and may i close the loop by saying that if you ain’t got reason, wealth, strength, art,or wisdom, you ain’t got your health. which shows in my mind the true need to bring it all on, to get it all together.

especially for those of us who live the privileged lives of laptops, computers, rss, websites, internet, etc. it is time now to bring ourselves to a state of optimal living. of complaint-free happy living. of the ultimate in creative lifestyles. because if we don’t get creative with our lifestyles, if we don’t step aside from the consumer orientation of buying whatever they are selling then we are doomed.

there’ll be one corporation

selling one little box
it’ll do what you want
and tell you what you want
and cost whatever you got…

greg brown “where is maria?”

doomed to continually chasing whatever comes up in our consciousness now now now. whatever hollywood or madison avenue or our rss feed tells us we need in order to be healthy happy accepted loved fulfilled together on top of it worthy etc. it’s true. the time is now. we are at that place that buckminster fuller called the choice between utopia or oblivion.

yes.the choice. and how do we make that choice? it’s not in a supermarket. it’s not on amazon.com. it’s not in a bloody blog post internet marketeer buy my system it’s the best non-systematic system that transcends all systems and it’ll all work out and you’ll finally be there.

there is no there there

problem is that just like gertrude stein’s oakland there is no there there. there is just here and now. and it is vital that we all make 2009 the best year ever. because the earth cannot bear anything less than total human happiness.

because an unhappy human is a dangersous human. and we are breeding unhappy people faster than we can kill them. and it’s time for us all to become less dangerous. to step it back a little and tap into our own inner creative energy life energy, and look at how to solve problems without creating more problems that our children will have to solve. because things are happening so fast now that we can’t pass the buck to the next generation.

we are the next generation.

so where do we start? and what do we do? well. we start anywhere. or rather we start right where we are sitting now! and we do anything. or rather we do whatever we feel the need to do right now. right here. we start with whatever we can do that doesn’t require pulling out our little plastic cards. we start with a simple creative act.

this week i started with letting go of complaint. which i did a lot. and of course i picked it up a lot as well. and felt the sting of rubber band on wrist as my way of reminding myself that all of my actions have consequences. i do not live in a bubble even when i am driving in my car, staring at my computer, iphone, etc.

simple as a butterfly

even though i have the appearance that i am living in isolation from the rest of the world it is not true. the butteflies are hard at work sneezing and beating their fragile little wings. and that simple small creative act of becoming conscious of complaint and reminding myself that complaint has consequences has managed to change my ways this week.

it has changed my vibrations and my thoughts. it has brought me business, strangely enough. and i’m pretty sure it will continue to do so. and the question now is:

what will i add to this next week?

what new creative act will i layer on to my life as i do what i can do to bring health and happiness to planet earth, to humanity, to me and you and you?

and you?
