you say it’s your birthday
okay then. woke up early and dove into the morning pages and came up with all sorts of things that i want to be doing. wow. inspired by the mad productivity of the charm quark perhaps, and feeling the urge to get busy on an amnar of my own. and yet…
it’s my birthday too yeah
mercury has been very very good to me. so thankful to have discovered the ever amazing dan furst, who set me straight on this whole mercury in retrograde thing. so happy to have spent the last two and a half weeks digging in the dirt, and finding myself, as t.s. eliot once predicted, right where i began. yeah, i know, this is not the end of my journey…and when we travel on spirals it kind of feels that way very often…cycles within cycles and all of that business.
they say it’s your birthday
yes indeed. so before i get into the amazing fantabulous things have been happening in my neck of the woods over the past week, let’s just get this birthday thing out of the way…did i mention that today is my birthday? yes. so here’s where i’ve been and where i’m heading, in this daily timeline.
- woke up and wrote the morning pages
- tickled rowan
- drove to mocha java, ostensibly to begin this post, in actuality to have coffee and catch up on twitter
- taught a yoga class on how to direct your life energy in order to direct your life and avoid running aground on either the left bank or the right
- went to the car wash and decided against standing in a line 4 cars deep
- made another super fantastic smoothie
- started this list
and what about the rest of this glorrrrrious day? well…
we’re gonna have a good time!
- finish this post!
- go sledding!
- bake a cake!
- go for pho in harvard square!
- get spontaneous!
okay then. enough of that. time to get down to business.
i’m glad it’s your birthday
yes. after a week and a half of digging digging digging, on the advice of mr. furst, and after the shitstorm of last week which i reported right here 7 days ago, something astounding happened.
- my nine and a half weeks of homelessness officially ended with me back in my old bed!
- the battles that had been raging in my lives…mental, emotional, energetic, physical…all wound down and went to sleep, replaced by the occasional little grumpy growl.
- that smile on my face has remained in place. what? i can be happy when all is well in this world?
wow…talk about a revolution!
and of course, i keep all of my promises (eventually) and all will be revealed (eventually). and even though i can smile about it now, you will all have to wait just a little bit to discover just how much “at the time it was terrible.”

of course what better day to look back and see that all is right in the world and it was our crazy perceptions that were making it all seem so out of control. and everyday is your birthday when you think about it. on the one day at a time calendar! of course that number gets really big and we’d be contributing to the cake and calendar shortage if we took it all the way…and still…
