a vision of wholeness and light

by chas on January 6, 2009

a new year’s question. what is health? and how do we get it?

etymologically, the word health comes from the same root as the word wholeness. wholeness is being and accepting all that you are. letting go of your denial of the parts of yourself that you don’t like. as well as your denial of the parts of yourself that you do like and can’t quite believe are really true.

i invite you to take some time this week to hold a vision of yourself in wholeness and light, to put yourself into the picture of your dreams: healthy, happy, full of life.

Shadow work, so much of it being acceptance, has that subtle gift held within it, namely, that in it’s collective aspects we can learn to disentangle and not beat ourselves up for their presence. Identification with either the light or the shadow can lead to serious inflation (setting us up for on of those metaphorical or literal crashes). So wholeness with rightsized-ness.

@richard one of the things i like about light is that it reveals the shadows, making them so much easier to accept. all metaphors break down over time, however! thnaks for the input. it adds a nice dimension to everything.

btw have you heard of commentluv? it can be helpful for directing people over to your cottage!
